MISTAKES INTO MIRACLES

Uncategorized Oct 30, 2019

“Sabotage” means: to deliberately destroy. Turn mistakes into miracles

I think sabotage really means “excuses.” We say we want something but our actions don’t support what we desire; therefore, we are not congruent with who we are. Unless we can make our “unconscious mind” be in alignment with our “conscious will,” we will be inauthentic.

We learn by doing; through practice the athlete becomes powerful. It’s funny that anyone can talk a good game, but we get rewarded in public because of what we practice in private. I’ve always found joy in reflecting on what I learn in church and I’m sure when I die God will probably say, “Tamara you were a good person—you followed the rules but what’s up? You didn’t have time to read my book!”

Ouch! If we dabble we debate. Do we dabble going to the gym once a month? Do we dabble being disciplined at work? It’s time to have our actions match our desires. If we find that we sabotage ourselves, keep reading…

Even our mistakes can’t derail God’s plan for us! Maybe we need a relationship restored, or we need a miracle in our health because our mistake was taking poor care of our body. We must participate in our own rescue though. Asking for help is a must, but don’t pray for a relationship to be restored and then continue to act “mean.”  Don’t pray for a healthier body and then choose not to make healthier choices.

Maybe we find ourself in a bit of depression and feeling we’re so far down into the hole we don’t even know what it would be like to get out of the hole! Take “Baby Steps”. Get encouraged; let’s fill our mind up with the things that lift us up. Now—trying to be positive when we’re bitter might make things worse! Take a slightly different approach. Let me explain:

If we we’re building a home for ourselves, wouldn’t we be careful in regard to the plans—how we should study every detail? How we should watch the material and select only the best of everything? And yet, how careless we are when it comes to building our mental home, which is infinitely more important than any physical home—as everything which can possibly enter into our lives depends upon the character of the material which enters into the construction of our mental home.

Mental, moral, and physical cleanliness are absolutely indispensable if we are to make progress of any kind.

So we’ve made Mistakes? Maybe we screwed up so bad that we think God himself can’t fix it! Let’s be assured that if it’s impossible for us, it’s just the right size and easy for God.

I think it’s fair to say that over the past year I’ve been in a valley—well maybe more like to hell and back—but I had an amazing experience this weekend that has softened my heart. I think if you are over-whelmed, stressed out or maybe you’re just tired all the time and you can’t figure out why, perhaps the weight is not on your shoulders but maybe the weight is on your heart? I have, through prayer, meditation, and a lot of hard work brought myself back to being totally whole. I feel happy and I don’t have most of the things I thought I “should” have to make me that way. Inner peace is not reacting to life’s circumstances, but rather having a sense of who you are and who you choose to be. I will never forget I had a class member create a vision board and she had pictures of the burning towers from 9/11, and then pasted on top of it was a picture of a Buddhist monk. She said, “I want to have peace no matter what is happening around me.” Being authentic, having your inner world match your outward experiences, creates power!

Your assignment: Take an area of your life or an area of your body that you haven’t liked and touch it, caresses it, and send love to it. Pretend I was in the room with you, what would I say? Practice being nice to yourself for a few hours. The sure way to take away despair is to help someone else. Make use of what you have been given; start by focusing on what you have vs. what you’ve lost.

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
