The Golden Book of Sales Wisdom

Uncategorized Oct 30, 2019

“Pro” + “Verbs” (Pro-Actions) = Wisdom

Proverbs tells us very clearly that hard work brings profits and that mere talk leads only to poverty. Wisdom teaches us how to use consistent intelligent action, not just work hard and hope to make more sales and money. Just because we’re moving does not mean we’re making progress. By learning how to be intentional and apply wisdom to our sales strategies, we become skilled in our work.

If we break the word Proverbs into two words, we have “Pro” and “Verbs.” A verb is a word used to describe an action, state or occurrence. Therefore, the entire book of Proverbs is about applied knowledge, which is all about taking action. We must be pro- active in our efforts.

WISDOM PRINCIPLES

  • The hardest sale is raising our children. Everyone is in sales! Who is more influential: you, the parent, or the drug dealer?
  • To be skillful at anything requires practice of the right activities. On average, you must follow up 8-12 times to get a deal; practice frequently and make it a ritual.
  • Throw all the standard, common folders and brochures away – only the editor will read them.
  • No marketing piece should be more than six lines down and six words across; if the prospect can’t read it in 10 seconds they won’t read it at all.
